Is Issue 7A the same as RTD's 2024 ballot measure 7A?

No. Issue 7A on the 2026 ballot is the Front Range Passenger Rail District's measure to fund the Colorado Connector, passenger rail from Fort Collins to Pueblo. RTD's 2024 Ballot Issue 7A was a different measure from a different agency, and voters already decided it.

The 2024 measure let RTD keep the revenue it already collects above Colorado's TABOR limit instead of refunding it. It created no new tax, and metro-area voters passed it in November 2024 with about 69% of the vote. The 2026 measure asks voters inside the Front Range Passenger Rail District to approve a new sales tax of a third of a penny per dollar to build and run the Colorado Connector.

The two share a number because Colorado labels local ballot questions by the kind of government that refers them, and the same label can repeat in different years for different districts. If you are reading about a 7A that passed in 2024, that was RTD. The Colorado Connector's Issue 7A is on the 2026 ballot and Election Day is November 3, 2026.
