Who votes on Issue 7A?

Voters who live inside the Front Range Passenger Rail District vote on Issue 7A in 2026. The District covers the communities nearest the planned Colorado Connector stations, from Fort Collins to Pueblo and including Trinidad, and the sales tax applies within that same district if voters approve it.

Issue 7A is a Front Range Passenger Rail District measure, not a statewide measure and not an RTD measure. The following municipalities and unincorporated communities are in the District and vote on 7A:

Arvada, Boulder, Bow Mar, Broomfield, Centennial, Cherry Hills Village, Colorado Springs, Columbine Valley, Denver, Edgewater, Englewood, Federal Heights, Fort Collins, Glendale, Greenwood Village, Lafayette, Lakeside, Lakewood, Littleton, Longmont, Louisville, Loveland, Manitou Springs, Mountain View, Pueblo, Sheridan, Starkville, Sterling Ranch, Superior, Trinidad, Westminster, and Wheat Ridge.

Under the measure, Trinidad will get funding for an improved station for Amtrak’s Southwest Chief line which would also be the station stop for a future Colorado Connector expansion.

Some voters in Adams, Arapahoe, Douglas, and Weld counties who live outside the District received ballots with Issue 7A printed on them. County clerks will sort those ballots by District boundary so that only eligible votes count toward 7A. Voters should vote their full ballot as they normally would. Election Day is November 3, 2026.
