Colorado Springs Downtown Partnership Endorses Yes on 7A

The Colorado Springs Downtown Partnership endorsed Issue 7A, which would fund daily passenger rail service connecting Colorado Springs with communities along the Front Range. The Partnership cited the Colorado Connector's potential to improve access to jobs, businesses, cultural and sporting events, and other destinations while strengthening economic connections between Colorado Springs and communities across the Pikes Peak Region. 

"The Colorado Connector represents the kind of regional investment that can shape the future of Downtown Colorado Springs and our entire region," said Chelsea Gondeck, CEO of the Colorado Springs Downtown Partnership. "Connecting Colorado Springs to communities along the Front Range will create new opportunities for workers, businesses, residents, and visitors, while moving us closer to the connected Downtown envisioned in Elevate Downtown. The Downtown Partnership is proud to support Issue 7A."

The endorsement adds to a growing coalition of support that runs from Pueblo to Fort Collins. Business groups backing 7A include the Colorado Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce. Local elected leaders backing the measure include Denver Mayor Mike Johnston, Pueblo Mayor Heather Graham, Boulder Mayor Aaron Brockett, and Westminster Mayor Claire Carmelia. Advocacy groups including Conservation Colorado, the Southwest Energy Efficiency Project, Greater Denver Transit, the Colorado Rail Passenger Association, and YIMBY Denver have also endorsed.

"Daily train service connects downtown businesses with customers, workers, and visitors – driving economic growth and reducing congestion on the road."
