Why you should vote YES on Ballot Measure 7A (CoPIRG)

We need a transportation system that gives people the freedom to get around without always having to drive.

From the many lives cut short every year by transportation pollution, to the ever-present threat of traffic and crashes on our roads, to the damage gas and diesel emissions are doing to our climate — our car-centric transportation system, which forces so many of us to drive, comes with heavy costs.

We can do better and give people more options. And we can’t afford to wait.

Ballot Measure 7A will create a new sales tax – about ⅓ of a penny on a $10 purchase. It will use that money to build out an initial train service from Pueblo to Fort Collins called Colorado Connector.

To be effective, we need transit service (like trains and buses) that come frequently and is reliable. Ballot Measure 7A is a first step toward that vision with up to 10 roundtrips a day.

After Colorado Connector launches and demonstrates its effectiveness, we hope it will be expanded and improved to provide even more/better options for Coloradans along the Front Range.

For now – please join us and VOTE YES on Ballot Measure 7A.

More travel options along the Front Range means we can reduce pollution and save lives – and we can drive less and live more.
